Camden Council obtained London’s first rogue landlord banning order.
The banning order was against a man who repeatedly placed tenants’ lives at risk through letting out unsafe properties in the Euston and King’s Cross areas.
Furthermore, he had issued some tenants with agreements in which he claimed he was the landlord, when he was actually sub-letting the property.
Following a hearing at the first-tier tribunal in October, the landlord has been banned from letting any housing in England and engaging in letting agency or property management work for four years.
A breached banning order can result in imprisonment or a court fine.
