A rogue landlord has been fined after his tenants had to live in a house from without electricity, heating or a shower.
The property in Cambridge had no cooking facilities or hot water. The kitchen sink was found to not work and fire safety precautions were inadequate.
An investigation was launched after the tenants complained. After the case was taken by Cambridge City Council, the landlord was fined almost £2,500.
The court heard how landlord Noelle Salameh had ignored requests from tenants to provide heating, hot water and functioning fire alarms.
Evidence further showed Ms Salameh had previously allowed more tenants to live in the property than could be safely accommodated.
She pleaded guilty to the offences and was fined a total of £2,478 with £1,370 costs and £108 victim surcharge.
