A landlord who had rented his house out for two years said he “nearly cried” after seeing the state of the property when the tenants suddenly moved out.
Daniel Needes said the home in Wales was in immaculate condition when he let it to the tenants five years ago.
When the tenants suddenly moved out without notice, Needes discovered the property had been completely trashed.
Speaking to Wales online, Needes said: “I went down to the house as soon as I could and that’s when I saw what they’d done.
“To be honest, when I first saw it, I nearly cried. They had completely trashed it…The house stank. They had turned it into a rubbish tip.”
The tenants had left rotting food in the kitchen as well as rubbish on the floor. Needed found the doors had been broken, the wallpaper had been torn down and the carpet was covered with dirt and black stains.
He added that the tenants had also accumulated around £1,000 in arrears on the gas and electricity meters.
